Gospel in NY
 

Would anybody recommend a particular church to listen to gospel in New York City?

There is a wonderful Christian church directly across from Planet Hollywood. I'm sorry I can't remember the name, but the Word is preached and the music is great, many old hymns and also new praise songs.

Not exactly on topic - there's a great resttaurant at 22nd between 5th and 6th called Lola. They have a Sunday Gospel lunch. It is soooo much fun.

Do we have to book a table in that gospel lunch? <BR>And the church is free?

Hi Luis, <BR> Reservations are a must for their Gospel Brunch. They only have one sitting which I think is at 1:00 pm. <BR> Also, if you don't mind singing in front of a crowd, towards the end of the show, they get people from the audience to go up and sing with them.

Remember when attending a church service to hear the music that it is also a regular service for others, and so: dress appropriately, stay for the whole service (don't just leave as soon as the music's over), and don't hesitate to make a donation in exchange for your entertainment.
