Good values in Savannah's Historic District?

We're in Savannah with our 16 yr. old daughter for 4 nights in April? Any suggestions on places to stay with a budget of $300/night or less near the Historic District?

Hampton Inn @ Bay and Abercorn

Oh - so lucky!

Just came back and loved Savannah. Stayed at the Mulberry Inn and I think that would qualify. Really, really nice place to stay that did not break the bank. In addition to a very nice room the Mulberry has a nice outdoor courtyard, outdoor pool, hot tub, small fitness room, large comfortable lobby with complimentary afternoon tea and pastries. Very nice staff. It's small enough to have ambiance, but also has these spaces where I would think a 16 yr. old might go and read or sun or workout if she needs some time away from the parents. For the parents, there is a nice bar/lounge (Jasper's) right off the lobby. Nice for an after dinner drink or two. If it's a nice night you can bring your drink out to the courtyard and sit there. Convenient secure parking garage directly across from the Inn (you pay $8/day). If you go ask for a room that does not face Bay (as Bay is loud).

Also, sharing that there is a large parking garage (think its a garage) being constructed right now at the corner of Bay and Abercorn directly across from the Hampton Inn. Full on construction site five days a week - its loud and ugly. Would not want to stay there right now until that is done.

Have a wonderful time. Can't wait to revisit Savannah.

The Quality Inn is not in a nice a location as the Hampton on Bay. Another choice would be the Staybridge Suites, also on East Bay.
