Good stops/Driving from New Jersey to Florida.
 

We would like to find 2-3 pleasant stops on our drive from NJ to /from Naples, Florida in February and April. We were thinking of Gasparilla Island, St. Augustine in Florida, but what about the other states? we plan to take 3-4 days to make this trip. THANK YOU!!

Charleston?
Savannah?
Beaufort?
Places south of Myrtle Beach like Brookgreen Gardens, Pawley's Island, etc.

St Simons Island, GA
Amelia Island, FL
Ocala, FL
Richmond, VA
Annapolis, MD

Have done it several times. My favorite is Richmond, Charleston, and Savannah for the three nights. Because Charleston and Savannah are so close, it gives some nice time to stay in one or the other.

ARe you committed to takiing I-95?

We did not, last year, and went instead via Staunton, Va. Loved that routing; spent a night in Staunton, a night in Winston visiting friends, and a night in St. Simons.

This year we are going more direct, but not on I=95. Via The virginia Beach area, Low Country (stopping there in Bluffton, but you could choose Beaufort or Savannah) and then on to south Florida.
