Good Seats for "Wicked" on Broadway

I plan to see "Wicked" in early June. Tickets haven't gone on sale yet for my date, so I'm hoping I'll have a good selection to choose from once tickets go on sale. My question is this: How close to the stage can we sit without being too close? I often choose seats in the 3rd-5th rows center, if available. Is that too close for "Wicked"? I know that with some shows it is good to be back a bit further to see the whole panorama of the cast. Thanks for your help.

Hi:
Loved Wicked!! Saw it a few weeks ago. We were seated in row J right around center. The seats were great. There is a lot going on and the seats made it easy to take it all in.

Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoworth were terrific.
If you are an American Express Gold card holder, you can get advance notice and some discounts on seats, Enjoy!

In the Gershwin theater I too would be farther back than 3-5 rows. It is a large stage so I would go back at least 8-10 rows center.

Another vote for sitting further back than rows 3-5. As previously mentioned, the Gershwin is a large stage, and this is not an intimate 3 person play. It has a large cast that moves around quite a bit, so you might be overwhelmed up so close. Also, the set design extends beyond the actual stage box, so you might not get the whole effect sitting up that close. But wherever you end up sitting, it's a great play and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Thanks to all of you who gave me such great information on where to sit. I'll aim for seats father back than I usually get, because I agree, it would be a shame not to savor the panorama of the cast and sets.

At this late date, that may be thebest you can do. The show is selling out. Have you tried Ticketmaster to see what they have available?
