Good restaurant in Bellevue
 

I'll be at Microsoft for a Forum staying at Hyatt Hotel in Bellevue.
Can you please give me any suggestion for good restaurants (no specific type or price limit..) in Bellevue or nereby??

Hi Gianni,

First of all I want to say that in my opinion your country has the most wonderful food in the world, so it's really going to be difficult for you to find anything around here that can begin to compare. However, we do have very good, fresh seafood, especially salmon and usually you can do all right ordering that.

There's a fairly good French style place called San Souchi in the Wintergarden Building right next to the hotel. There are lots of places by the mall, though I find most of them just so-so.

Probably some of the best places are in Seattle itself...Canlis, The Georgian Room at the Four Seasons, The Waterfront Cafe, Ettas at Pikes Place Market and Roys. None of these places are easy to get to from Bellevue by car.

There are a few Italian restaurants I think are pretty good, but I'd hesistate suggesting any of them to you since, lucky you can get the real thing all the time!

I'm new to the area, so I haven't eaten at too many places yet, but I enjoyed 'Bis on Main' in the old part of downtown Bellevue.

The three top-rated restaurants on the East Side are Cafe Juanita, and Szmania in Kirkland and Seastar in Bellevue.

And now for something completely different...

I'll wager €10 there's nothing in Milan like Todai, an all-you-can-eat (how American) Japanese restaurant located in the Redmond town center. Sushi, tempura, various non-Japanese (mainly Chinese) items, and surprisingly good considering the masses of people served. High noise level, lots of fun, and a great place to go with fun-loving (but not stuffy) friends for a good time and over-indulgence.

Todai replaces the now-closed original Japanese buffet on the eastside, which got my lifetime award for most apt restaurant name: The Eating Factory. Is that cool or what?

I think Gardyloo has a great idea--it might be really interesting for you to try something here you probably don't get in Italy.

I haven't been to Todai (my waistline doesn't like those places!), but have heard it's good.

There's a Malaysia restaurant near Microsoft that I like a lot (a Malyasian friend first took me there) called the Malay Satay Hut at 15230 24th in Redmond. It gets very crowded at times (probably with Microsoft people--my friend works there), and they don't take reservations (or credit cards for anything under $25), so it might be best to go either early or late, but the food is delicious, inexpensive, and authetic (I lived in Malaysia too.)

To Artlover: I agree, italian food is so different in all part of our Country that we have the opportunity to get so much from it!

In any case I love to have different experoences when I go abroad particularly in the States. You have the possibility to try so many different food that you can compare and take the best from all over the World.

Well, excuuuuuuuuse me. Along the vein of the above, don't miss Dick's Drive-in on lower Queen Anne, which is where Bill Gates likes to eat--especially when giving an interview on national TV. The favorite "Seattle" place downtown is The Cheesecake Factory. Eat in the lounge.
