Good Place to stay w/ kids in NYC?
I'm traveling with a friend and our 2 little girls (5 and 6 yrs. old) in a few weeks. I would like any suggestions you may have for a good bargain priced hotel, preferably in the midtown area, but we're flexible.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Hi Jem...try the Gorham on West 55th Street...it's a small European style boutique hotel...nice and elegant...if you go before April you can get a suite for $159.00...it's within walking distance of Central Park, 5th Avenue, theaters, museums, and lots more.

Jem,
We stayed at the Doubletree Suites in Time Square with our 9 and 12 year olds this summer for something like $139.00 a night with AAA. Two separate rooms--one with 2 doubles (queens??) or a king and a living room with a pull-out sofabed. There was one bathroom with doors opening to each room. Our room also had a microwave, fridge and bar sink which came in very handy. Each room had a tv. When traveling with our kids we like to have two separate rooms in a suite if possible--it eliminates that 'lights out for everyone at one time' thing.

The hotel avalon is all suites. i, by chance, got a room there for some visiting family on priceline (no guarantee you would get on priceline). The suite had a bedroom with 2 queen beds and a living room area with a pull out, fullsize sofa bed. each area had ait's own tv and an ample continental breakfast was included (with very good coffee). it's on 32nd st and 5th av, which is much quieter and less hectic than times sq but still near lots. i don't know their rates but you can call and see if they have any special deals.

We stayed at Hotel Delmonico a few years ago with three kids, then aged 11,8, and 6. It is really well located, at 59th and Park. Just a block from the subway, and easy walk to everything. At the time they were in the Entertainment book, so we got a 50% discount. I think we paid about $300 for a two bedroom, two bath apartment with kitchen, living room and dining room. Loved it!
