Good Place to Stay Saturday Night Spring Lake-Belmar-Asbury Park Area

We're headed north and thinking of a night by the sea. Anything to recommend in the area just off 195 (Spring Lake, Asbury, Belmar). Looking for quality, real comfort, amenities...sea air...even if raining. Maybe a good restaurant, too, in hotel or nearby.

Spring Lake is beautiful and the nicest of those towns and the Hewitt-Wellington is the best hotel.

Belmar is filled with group rentals and Asbury Park is a decaying town having a resurgence of restaurants and condos.

Questions? I've lived in the area for 35 plus years and can try to answer any questions you might have....

When are you traveling? In the summer of course one night stays over Saturday are impossible. Even in the off season, some places only book such stays on short notice.
Is further north an option? Red Bank always has lots going on and the Blue Bay Inn near Sandy Hook (but not right on the water) looks great.

Desperado,
Avoid highway motels; they're welfare dumps and can be dangerous. The Berkeley in Asbury Park might still have one-night accomodations, or you might try The Tides on Seventh Avenue there. Great restaurants in both. Use this link http://tourism.visitmonmouth.com/TourismLodging.aspx to find a good listing of hotels, B&Bs, etc.

There are too many really good restaurants to name. The earea has about anything you'd want. Check http://asburyrestaurants.com/ or do a Google search in Spring Lake, Wall, Ocean Grove, Sea Girt, Belmar, Bradley Beach, Avon (Clementine's is great), Manasquan and Brielle.
