Good place for celebrating 20th anniversary on Big Island

We'll be on the Kona side of the island for our 20th anniversary. Any suggestions for a nice dinner. We are going cheap with a couple of splurges, this is one.

First choice would be Roy's, at the Kings Shops in Waikoloa. If you want something closer to Kona, try the Kona Inn (although the food was not great the last time we were there), Huggo's, or Jamison's By The Sea.

If money is no object try one of the resort restaurants -- Four Seasons Hualalai, etc.

Haven't been yet, but will be in May for our 7th, and on the Big Island, my choice is going to be Merrimans. From everything I've read, even though the atmosphere isn't "romantic", the food sure is! (Get a great meal, take a good bottle of champagne to your room, and you'll be set!)

We also had great meals at Roy's and Merriman's, but a few years ago.
We also like Huggo's right in town because of the ocean views, but it can be noisy.
For a moderately-priced meal if you get tired of island cuisine, try the ribs at the Big Island Steakhouse, also in the King's Shops.

We celebrated our 20th at Roy's Waikoloa. The table was outside, by the water, which made it much quieter than the fish bowl effect inside. We were there on Thanksgiving, but I didn't want turkey, so they let us order the tasting menu available on other days. We had an excellent meal with excellent service. It was a real treat.

We enjoy the Kamuela Provision Company at the Hilton. Make a reservation for about 5:30, ask for an outside table and enjoy the sunset over the water.

For best romantic location and food, try Pahuia at Four Seasons Hualalai. It is oceanfront dining; you can even ask to dine on their lanai that is steps from the ocean under the stars. The food and service is wonderful. Enjoy.
