Good New england beach trip

Im looking to possibly plan a summer beach getaway, I have been looking at Ocean City MD which I have been too previously, or maybe old orchaurd beach Maine. I wondering if there are any other good locations that I am missing. I want something that has lots of activities like a board walk with an amusement park ect. thanks

Wildwood and Seaside Heights in New Jersey come to mind.

Sorry about my reply that wasn't focused on New England. I can't really think of a New England location other than Old Orchard Beach that has amusements though.

Hampton Beach NH has a boardwalk and arcades though I think that OOB in Maine is probably a little nicer. Hampton is pretty much a teen hangout though I think they've been trying to curb that. (Not sure how successful they've been). Southern Maine has lots of great beaches but none that I can really think of that have amusements other than Old Orchard. It's touristy if that's what you are indeed looking for.

thanks guys. I love any suggestions you can give me, and it really doesnt matter if its in new england, obviously Md is not. I dont necessarily want tourist but I want to be able to keep our selves occupied aside from just soaking up the sun.

For just a couple, or is this a whole family with kids?

York Beach Maine has a small amusement park and there's a cute shopping area both right near the beach. York puts you in close proximity to Ogunquit ME and Portsmouth NH for good restaurants, Kittery for outlet shopping. You can do a lobstering tour on a lobster boat in the area too.

Ocean Park, Maine is close enough to Old Orchard Beach that you can walk there via the sand....but far enough away to be out of the center of chaos. Portland Maine is just a 20 minute drive north, and Kennebunk about a 25 min drive south. The Old Orchard boardwalk has the best french fries in the world.
