Good Golf Courses in the Phoenix area??

Can anyone help us with the names of some good golf courses in the Phoenix area? We want ones that are not too challenging but we will enjoy playing. They can be anywhere in the area as we will also be staying in the Scottsdale area for a week. Thanks for your help.

Try to get a copy of the Thursday Sports section of the Arizona Republic. They have loads of ads for golf courses. Municipal courses are very crowded on weekends and many other courses are private or only for resort guests. There are plenty of other courses however

The Orange Tree golf course in Scottsdale (56th?/Shea) is very enjoyable and not overly expensive. The attached hotel is part of a 5 star time share resort program, so there are after-golf amentities as well--a nice lounge, restaurant, live music some evenings.

Judy -

The TPC Desert Course is a decent course. Not to expensive and in north Scottsdale. The TPC Stadium Course is it's sister course and much more expensive. If you're going there soon, you can get good deals on many of the usually expensive courses. There is another one I played in the Phoenix area called The Legacy which was nice. Don't remember the cost though.

Hope this helps.

try Stone creek in North Phoenix; also Mc Cormick Ranch Courses; All have relatively reasonable summer rates (it's all relative)
