ssgomezz - I'm still rooting for Amelia. The b&bs in the downtown area are fantastic and within walking distance of great restaurants and shopping. I lived downtown and often rode my bike or walked to the beach (it is a mile or two depending on where you start).

I live all year looking forward to my one week on the beach in Longboat Key. I highly recommend there ir Lido Beach. St. Armands Circle is a lovely little piece of Europe in Florida.
