Good BBQ place by Kansas city airport?

Hello, I'm looking to eat in a good bbq restaurant. I'll be landing at Kansas city airport and driving to Branson. Any good bbq places on my way to Branson. Also, any idea how long the trip is? Is it 3 hours?

While I'm sure there some ok places within 15-20 minutes of the airport, most of the well known spots (Gates, Jack Stack, Arthur Bryants) are approx 30 minutes. The good news is they are between the airport and Branson. Plan on 4 hrs from the airport to Branson.

If it were me, I would drive through the down-town area and go to Jack Stack near Union Station/Crown Center. It's a good 30 minutes from the airport, but like the previous poster said, it's on the way to Branson.

You can easily go to Gates at the State Line exit off 435 (south end of the loop) as you head toward Branson. If that's your choice, holler and I'll give you more exact directions.

Hello, I see there are a few locations to Gates bbq. Which one should I stop at on my journey to Branson from Kansas City airport?
Thanks : )

Easiest for you would be the location listed as "Leawood" at 103rd and State Line.

From 435, exit north on State Line and it will be on your left (west) just barely north of the interstate and south of 103rd St.

It will all be obvious to you when looking at a map. 435 and State Line couldn't be easier to find. HAve fun!

Gates or Bryants (both just east of downtown) would be the closest and most convenient (IMO).

Hi Enin,

I have not been to Branson since I was a child...many years ago! MAybe post a new topic with Branson in the headline and some folks can chime in who've been there recently. Hope your trip goes smoothly!
