gonna be out west.. lookin' for some ideas...

Hey there,
My boyfriend and I are going to be traveling through Albuqurque, El Paso, Bisbee, Tuscon, Prescott, Sedona, Williams, and Vegas this summer. Just looking for some advise as to places we should go & check out, restaurants, galleries and etc. Anything you might have to add would be a big help!!! Thanks a bunch!

Use Priceline for Hotels. You can get three star hotels in Arizona for $30 a night.

I suggest going to Kartchner Caverns near Tucson and the Biosphere. It's best to make a reservation for the caverns. They are beautiful.

Carlsbad Caverns National Park, NM isn't that far from El Paso, TX

Near Sedona is Montezuma's Castle National Monument.

Near Prescott is the living copper mine ghost town of Jerome.

Near Williams is Walnut National Monument.

In the Alb. area, check out Bandiler (sp?) Natl. Park. It's one of the coolest places I've ever been. There's 2 parts to the park- the front which is maintained and monitored by the park service and the back which is kind of a self-tour place. I prefer the back because there's less people and the scenery and areas are like nothing else. The hiking isn't hard, but there are a few ladders and paths that can give you a bit of vertigo!

There's also a petroglyph park just west (I think) of town that is neat. Nearly every rock has something on it and just wandering through the fields of rock is awesome.

It's been a few years since I've been to either one, so anyone else should feel free to correct me if things have changed. I believe you can find more info on both parks on the internet. Have a great trip!

You can explore Saquarro National Park, divided into two parts, both east and west of Tucson. Its an amazing park and worth a visit.

Albuqurque is home to the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, housing a nice museum and good restaurant for lunch. Try their corn fries, yum!

In El Paso, you can take a Trolley over the border to Mexico, for an easy, safer way to shop the street vendors. We did this several years ago at our son's insistence and it really was kinda fun.

Happy planning.

Must see's for Tucson:
The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum-
desert animals in a non-zoo environment
google for their website.

Sabino Canyon-hike in the foothills
of the Santa Catalina mountains. If
it's too hot, ask a local how to get to
Reddington Pass.

Kitt Peak Observatory-you can do a neat
overnight thing here and stay up with
an astronomer explaining the sky.

Tubac-about 30 mins. South of Tucson
great artists colony.

Have fun!
