golf or tennis lessons?

Need help finding a vacation spot. We're a newlywed couple. Traveling in early November. Probably going for 10 days.

For her, perfection is napping on the beach, taking a swim, a bit of shopping, nice dinner, nice resort hotel.

I prefer a day filled with activities like tennis, golf, exercising -- anything that involves keeping score or breaking a sweat. I enjoy the beach too. I just get bored easily.

It'd be fun to find a spot that has golf and/or tennis lessons. Just beginning our research and would appreciate any advice.

Thanks.

Can't help with golf lessons although I imagine any golf course with a driving range would have a pro that could give lessons. My favorite resort, Kona Village Resort, has tennis courts and offers lessons, and guests are able to play golf next door at Hualalai. If you're curious about Kona Village Resort, I'm a devoted fan and put up a website devoted to it. Go to www.davidskvr.net and see if it appeals to you.

Oh, and Kona Village also offers SCUBA certification and has two 2-tank dives every day but Sunday. And not only are the meals all included in the price, but the snorkel gear, sailboats, kayaks, etc. are as well.

I think most resorts will offer lessons. We took private tennis lessons at the Four Seasons on the Big Island. One of my favorite golf experiences was the Makena course on Maui. I think those were the prettiest photos of the trip - the course was breathtaking.

For shopping, I'll defer to others.

Thanks for the advice. Mumpsimus, I'll check out your website later today and will come back to the forum here if I have any Qs.

If we were to do 2 islands, which would you choose?...knowing that i like activity and she likes beach time. I've narrowed the choices to Big Island, Maui and Kauai. (I've been to Oahu twice.)

For what your wife likes, if you don't want to go back to Oahu, I think Maui sounds the next closest for offering beaches, but also shopping, resorts, etc.

Both BI and Kauai are more quiet, and Big Island, well it's BIG (spread out).

For your original question, just put words like "golf lessons Kauai" into a Google search. Lots of stuff pops up.
