Golf in the Ozarks?

A few friends and I are planning a "guys" golfing weekend this fall in the Ozarks, and are looking for a resort. We're not on a "money is no object" budget, but, don't want anything cheap either! The Lodge of the Four Seasons is a possibility...haven't stayed there for some time, though. Any other suggestions? Thanks!

Are you looking only at Lake of the Ozarks, or in the Branson area too?

beckers2482...we're open to either, and are familiar with both areas...don't necessarily need lake amenities...any suggestions?

Near Branson, Big Cedar Lodge has a golf package with Top of the Rock - I don't know if it's in your price range. I have heard lots of good things about Top of the Rock golf course, and Big Cedar is fantastic all by itself. www.bigcedar.com

You should also look into Thousand Hills, which is more "in town" than Big Cedar.

thanks for the tips!...will look into both.

Big Cedar is a great place however, the golf course at Top of the Rock is nine holes-par 3. The restaurant at Top of the Rock just had a fire and at this time only have outside dining. The other course at Thousand Hills is a bit of a drive and the Branson traffic can be terrible.

Lake of the Ozarks has better golf choices than Branson. The courses at Marriott's Tan-Tar-A are also good. The restaurants are much better at Lake of the Ozarks. Overall, Lake of the Ozarks might be a better choice for your type of golf trip.
