Golf Cart Permitted

Looking for a quaint town that has awesome restaurants and shopping on East Coast that allow gas powered golf carts. We enjoy leaving vehicles at the rental home and driving golf carts to dinner, shopping, etc

East coast of what ? -- east coast of the USA, east coast of Florida, east coast of someplace else . . .

mrwunrfl Sep 5th, 2017 08:31 AM

janisj, this is the United States forum.

The only reason I opened this thread is because golf carts are permitted in our beach town on the west coast.

MmePerdu Sep 5th, 2017 09:50 AM

So does that mean mrwunrfl and pmorgan are the same person? If so, you can answer your own questions, how convenient and always someone to agree with you.

mrwunrfl Sep 5th, 2017 10:02 AM

Nope, my post only means that I could help if the OP was visiting the west coast.

This post means that the OP will now have four replies that don't help.

MmePerdu Sep 5th, 2017 10:36 AM

Now 5, the usual.

I have to admit I am a little confused by the OP's question. Would you drive somewhere to this East Coast location and bring golf carts? Are you looking for a town that has golf carts for rental that you can scoot around town?

Well I'm not in favor of snarky responses, I understand sometimes posters questions lend themselves to Snark.

sometimes replies lend themselves to snark, too, and are difficult to resist.

Virginia Beach might not fit the bill for "quaint".

mrwunrfl Sep 5th, 2017 11:09 AM

That a place has rentals means that you could (probably) take your own of the same type.

I seem to recall people zipping around in golf carts and little electric cars (golf cart sized, not just small car sized) in Key West. It's been several years, though.

Stone Harbor, NJ.

>>janisj, this is the United States forum. <<

I do realize that. But the OP did not tag the thread so my question is still valid. Does s/he mean ANYWHERE along the entire east coast of the US? Or perhaps it means the east coast of Florida (which last time I checked has both an east and west coasts)

Christina Sep 7th, 2017 11:34 AM

I presume by east coast they mean east coast, why question that. If they wanted just Florida, I presume they would have said so. This doesn't seem that difficult a question to me.

They are legal in all of Ohio as long as the speed limit is 35 MPH and under or something like that, but that sure won't help, I just thought it was interesting as I'm from there. I guess Toledo isn't quaint.

The main issue is it would have to be a self-contained resort community or something in order to get everywhere by golf cart.

Martha's Vineyard allows that
