Golf at DisneyWorld

We're looking at a long weekend in Orlando to combine golf with the theme parks in early march. has anyone played the disney courses - one package has a daily round of golf plus park passes, lodging, etc and looks pretty reasonable. Thx

You might do better to check out www.disboards.com. They've got message boards on everything relating to Orlando (Disney and other!). I would bet there'd be info on golf in the area.

There are all kinds of golf courses in the area. On WDW property there are three 18 hole courses and one 9 hole/executive course. I've played the 9 hole a couple of times & the Magnolia course. The Magnolia is their "signature" course as it features a Micky Mouse (head only) shaped sand trap on one of the holes. The Magnolia is the course used for the final day of the Buick or Oldsmobile Open (Tiger's won several times). From what I've heard and played, none of the courses are very challenging. FYI - I'm a hacker and still found them pretty forgiving. Enjoy .... PS: We saw / inadvertantly found an aligator sunning the day we played Magnolia. Needless to say I didn't look to hard for the ball that went his/her way.

Golf in Disney World is expensive. The courses are very nice and typically forgiving resort style courses. I recommend playing when the twilight rates go into effect as the green fees are dramatically lower and at least when I was there, no one else was playing. Rounds by myseslf or with one other person were typically in the 2 hour 30 minute range. There are also public courses close to Disney that are much cheaper and just as good...the golf shop at the Orlando Airport has discount coupons for these.

It will be my teenaged son playing and he's been at the game for less than a year. I see they have a 9 hole course that might be perfect for him- early morning round followed by time at the parks. Don't know if he would want to play at a course for $100+ per round.
