Golden Age Passports

I have seen postings about the Golden Eagle Pass allowing the elderly admission to Federally run places in Alaska...is the Golden Age Passport usable also?
Thank you.

The Golden Age Passport is available to anyone 62yrs or older and will admit you into any National Park. My husband just got his and so far this year we have been admitted free into Yosemite, Muir Woods and have plans for Yellowstone and Mt Rushmore. But please don't call us "elderly" :-)

How does one get a Golden Age Passport?

I bought my Golden Age card at the first National Park gate I came to after I reached 62. I think it was when I entered Glacier NP. I handed the person in the booth the money and she handed me the card. I had it laminated for protection and have carried it ever since. I did have to show my driver's license to establish my age.

You can apply at any national park at the park office, or if it is a park that charges an entrance fee, maybe at that point. I got mine several years ago inside the visitors building at the Manassas Battlefield.

In addition I know that if you are a holder of a Handicapped permit issued from any state you are also given addimission into any National Park free. In the Grand Canyon it also gave us acess to roads only tour buses could use. Just presentt he pass at the gate and the entire car is admitted free.

Can anyone give me information about the Golden Eagle Pass? Some posters have spoken about using it in Alaska to gain entrance to museums, etc.

To get the details of the Pass and Passport, the National Park Service can give you that information on its website, or do a search on google.com.
