Going to wamea canyon- start from Poipu or Princeville
We're spending 5 nights of our honeymoon in Kauai in Aug. Not sure how we're going to split it up, but we want to stay at the Hyatt in Poipu and then up near Princeville in a condo.
We want to go to wamea canyon. Is it best to go there when we're staying at the Hyatt or up North? After looking at a map, I wasn't sure if you can easily get to the canyon from the North. Thanks for any suggestions!

ditto: YOu have to be in Poipu area to get to the Canyon or you will be spending a lot of time in the car getting there from Princeville. BYW if you haven't taken a helicopter ride, I highly rec. it and flying over the canyon is an awesome experience.

The point to be made is that the road does NOT completely encircle Kauai.
Think of a clock, there is no road between about 8 o'clock (Polihale) and 1 o'clock (Ke'e Beach) approx.
So Waimea Canyon is indeed accessible by road from anywhere on the island but will be a lot quicker from Poipu than from up north.
Have a wonderful trip.
