going to sedona arizona
 

Hello

My partner and I am going to Sedona in about a week. We will be staying one night. It looks like the chapel of the Holy Cross looks amazing and we plan to visit. Bell Rock seems worth a stop. I"ve heard of the "red rock Loop"--is that interesting? IN terms of dining-I have heard of "View 180" at the Enchantment resort. would that be a special place to eat? Any other restaurant ideas? I've also heard there are some native American ruins around I-17 and the exit for Sedona. Are these interesting?

any suggestions would be appreciated ..

There is Montezuma's castle and well right off 17 as well as a couple of other ruins in the Sedona area.

Montezuma Castle, get off I-17 at the exit for Cliff Castle Casino and follow the signs. For Montezuma Well, back on I-17 to the next exit (Cornville Road/McGuireville) and follow the signs.

The Chapel of the Holy Cross is special. I am not at all religious, but sitting inside the chapel is just so peaceful.
Bell Rock is worth a stop for photos or to take the Bell Rock pathway. It is fairly flat, so not really a hike.
Red Rock Loop Road is nice. Go into the Crescent Moon Picnic area off the east part of RRLR. There is an entry fee ($10, I think), but you can take a pathway down to Red Rock Crossing and get the iconic photo of Cathedral Rock with Oak Creek in the foreground. Great place to view Cathedral rock at sunset.
Airport Mesa overlook at Sky Ranch Lodge is great for viewing the red rocks at sunrise.
On Upper Red Rock loop road, there are a couple of places you can pull off to watch the red rocks at sunset.

Make sure you take a drive up Oak Creek Canyon. It is a very scenic drive.
