Going to Scottsdale in two weeks, what

should we do? We will be staying at the JW Mariott. We are there for an awards trip and won't have tons of time, but a free night, maybe two. Just wondering about restaurants, things to do, must see. Shopping tips? Lunch, any fun things in the area??? Thanks.

We're heading there this week for our annual spring break trip with the family. Plenty to do but please tell us whether you're adults only, a whole family (kids ages?)...that will give us a better idea of the type of suggestions to give you!

Just returned from a week in Scottsdale. For dining, I highly recommend you try an area called "DC Ranch". They have many exellent restaurants such as Flemings Steak House and Eddie V's. Also try the "Kierland Commons". They have PF Changs, Mortons, Cheesecake Factory, Maestro's Ocean Club, Sushi Roku. Both areas offer shopping although Kierland is more mainstream (Tommy Bahama, Restoration Hardware, Victoria's Secret, etc.). Both DC Rach and Kierland Commons are only about 10 minutes from the JW Marriott. Ask your concierge about things to do. There are desert jeep trips, skeet shooting, glider rides, etc. in the area. Have a great trip!

Oh yes, just the two of us. It is an awards trip with his company. Should have a few free nights to play. He will golf and I will shop. I do get tired of mainstream shopping that I can get anywhere. Any special shops or restaurants in the area?

Taliesen West, the Frank LLoyd Wright property and school is well worth touring.

Old Scottsdale is a fun place to browse. Many nice art galleries mixed in along with standard souvenir shops. I agree that Kierland Commons is a nice place to shop as an outdoor mall.
