Now, my point exactly! When one can find romance even in G ... that, folks, is the true romantic!!! I knew it!!! Love does conquer all.

Now, if they will only improve the restaurants in Sanibel, my plans will be perfect.

decia,

we live on sanibel and have celebrated more than one anniversary at the riviera (239 472 1141). tell them it's your anniversary when you make your reservation + i'll bet they would do what they could to help make it a special evening.

Our best meal in Sanibel was at the Seafood Factory. I recommend it highly. Great place to shop, lounge by the pool or beach, get a place with a nice balcony and view, you won't be disappointed.

The first time I saw Captiva Island, just on the other side of Sanibel, I thought it was one of the most romantic places that I have ever been to. South Seas Resort is gorgeous! Check out their website. As far as restauants, we have travelled a lot of other places that have far better restaurants than Sanibel/Captiva, but they are overall not bad. We had a wonderful time there, and there are many romantic cruises to take from sunset champagne cruises to day cruises to the other islands nearby. Also killer sunsets. Leaving in a few weeks, can't wait to go back.
Another place we liked was Song of the Sea on Sanibel. It was less crowded than South Seas, and we were literally the only ones in the pool at night. Kids can swim in the pool next door (also owned by them) which made our pool practically empty. Took nightly walks on the beach and we were practically the only ones there. Also very romantic! They also give you a bottle of wine and daily continental breakfast with much to eat, homemade breads, cereal, pastries, yogurt, fresh fruit, etc. Bikes to ride furnished also. Loved the privacy without many kids at this place. They also have a website.
