Going to Hawaii

We will be going to Hawaii next week,(for the first time) flying into Honolulu and then on to Maui (Hyatt) and then to the Ritz Carlton in Kapalua. Any ideas/recommendations or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Particularly in terms of rental vehicles and tours. While in Honolulu we would like to see Pearl Harbor, any suggestions???

Am I reading this correctly that you have not reserved a car yet? You should do this beofre you leave, especially if you don't want to be stuck taking whatever is left when you get here.

I'm just curious, but why are you staying at the Hyatt AND Ritz on Maui? They're pretty close by each other. If you can afford it, I'd just stay at the Ritz.

Thrifty usually has the cheapest cars here, but check around. Definitely book it on the web. I've done that and also called the companies, and many times, they tell me they can't match the internet price.

What to do? Boy, just tons of stuff. Many websites on Hawaii are helpful. If you have a specific question on a particular item, let me know.

Plan to arrive at Pearl Harbor early in the morning. Tickets sell out fast and most tour buses arrive before nine.
Friends of our arrived at 7:30 in the a.m. and were in the first boat over.
I hear it can sell out by 10 or 11 a.m.
Take advantage of the time change, your body won't be used to Hawaii time yet, and go early!

Check www.rentalcodes.com before renting your car. There are usually a few good codes to use for Hawaii.
