Going from NYC to Newark Airport??
First I'd like to thank everyone for helping me with my many inquiries!
We have decided to have car service for our trip from JFK to Hoboken. But now I have to still figure out how to get my gf the next day who's flying into Newark Airport. Even though we're staying in Hoboken, my husband and I will probably be in the City during the day...probably walking around the village/Soho. So what is the easiest way to get form there to Newark? Should we just stay in Hoboken that day?Train perhaps?? We'll be taking a taxi back to Hoboken after we pick her up. Also...she's living a few days later very early in the morning, but now she's flying out of LaGuardia...any options with that?? I called the Super Shuttle, and they wont go into NJ. Thanks soo soo much for the help, Samantha |
IF she's a comfortable traveler, simply tell her to take the airport monorail to the Rail Station. Trains run fairly often from the airport into Penn Station New York.
Now, as she'll probably have bags, it might just be easier to have her meet you in Hoboken. You can use public transit but would have to switch at least two times. A cab ride is about $35. |
why don't you arrange for a car service to take you & your friend to/from the airports on the days you need. We use Carmel - their prices are reasonable and they provide reliable service.

Thanks evereyone...
She wont have many bags, onyly a backpack probably since she's only staying for 2 nights..so I would like to catch some kind of shuttle to the airport, then pick her up and take a taxi back to Hoboken. A private car wouldnt be an option for her, since we're only picking her up...but we will be using one ourselves going from JFK to Hoboken and back. So should we go to Penn station and then get the train to Newark? |
Sammy,
Taking the PATH to 33rd street, walking a block west to Penn Station and taking a NJ Transit train to Newark Airport would work. But, I'd suggest it might be slightly easier (and certainly cheaper) to take the PATH towards the World Trade Center. Go two stops to Exchange Place. Connect to the PATH to Newark. From there either walk across the platform and catch a NJ transit train to airport (1 stop away) or take a cab. The cost of heading into NYC then catching the train will be about $11. If you stay on the NJ side, it's probably closer to $5 - $7. Time wise, probably similar. |
Ryan..I'm not too familiar with Exchange Place? But I am familiar with 33rd street since we often got off there from the path.
Ok so...go to 33rd, walk a few blocks to Penn Station then catch the NJ transit train to the airport? Do u think there's a way I could do this from the village? I appologize for my confusion. |
Sure, just take the subway. Both the 1/2/3 line and the A/C/E stop within Penn Station. Just follow the signs to NJ Transit when leaving the subway.
I'd suggest you go to the NJ Transit website for the best schedule options. BTW, in Hoboken, if you want the BEST sandwich you'll ever have, go to Biancamano's on Washington and 12th. The ham, salami, prosciutto, and mozzarella is my favorite. |
Oohh...thanks for the sandwich tip...I'll deff remember that!!
And will use your info...thanks a million. |
