Going down the West Coast in Sept

Hi,

Me and a mate (from England) are travelling down the west coast in Sept from Seattle to Santa Cruz. Is there anywhere that we can catch a major baseball game on the way? Sorry for being ignorant, but are there any big teams down there who will be playing in early Sept? Any help will be gratefully received!

There are big league teams in Seattle, San Francisco and Oakland. They will all be playing at home at various times during September. Go to http://www.mlb.com for schedules. All three teams will likely be contending for playoff positions in September, (well, at least Seattle and SF - ha, ha) so tickets may be difficult to come by without some advance planning. All three baseball parks are beautiful and fun places to watch games.

Thanks John that's great! Where is Oakland, north or south of SF?

A few miles east, on the other end of the Oakland-San Francisco Bay Bridge.

Also take in a minor league game along the way. We used to love going to see the Ems (Emeralds) in Eugene. A great setting, beautiful evenings, microbrewery beer on tap, relaxed atmosphere, and some very talented young players. Or even Bend, OR, where you can watch the game from your own hot tub. Now that's a tale for the pub when you get home.
