Wow, I never really appreciated the stupidity of the republicans. Bush really was the best choice for the party. I feel sorry for McCain, given what he had to work with.
|
Actually, our current President made most of his money from a baseball team. Should we outlaw baseball???
|
No, the Bush family made their real money from an oil deal with Bahrain brokered through contacts with Saudi Arabia. The current Bush came along for the ride, being careful not to rock the boat with the Saudis.

Betty, do a little research before you open your mouth again. Yes, I know he owned the Texas Rangers for a time, but his wealth, his father's wealth and Dick Cheney's wealth stems from owning oil companies.

Jim, of course the earth has undergone drastic changes in climate in the past. Are you aware that humans have not always existed on the earth? Oh, wait, you probably believe in creationism.
|
But, yes, I do think we should outlaw baseball. Good idea.

So we're pinning global warming on Bush? Hmmmmm... what'd his predecessor do for eight years? At least Bush admits we have a problem! What did his predecessor EVER admit to?

And it's somehow wrong to have gotten rich in the oil business? Jealous, are we? Hmmmm... how'd Bush's predecessor get rich? Hmmmm.... things like Whitewater come to mind.

Okay, yes we need to do something about global warming before it gets worse. But you'll be a lot more upset if a terrorist nuke goes off in your back yard.

And to you, voice, suppose you espouse the Big Bang theory. Makes about as much sense as a Porsche being the result of a junkyard explosion.
|
How did the Gore family get their money and power? Armand Hammer. AN OIL MAN!Poor old St. Al. He must be kicking himself to blow such a big lead with a "good economy" and all, only to lose to a moron. The lesser of 2 morons is now President in my humble opinion.

OK, Another Voice, I have checked MY facts. Maybe you should have done the same.

"In 1977, Bush took $17,000 from his education trust fund to set up Arbusto Energy (arbusto means Bush in Spanish), which hit the skids when oil prices fell. Despite several attempts to revive the business (first by changing the company's name and later merging with other companies), his bad luck followed him. In 1990, he sold his remaining stock options and left the oil business.

In 1989 Bush assembled a group of investors to buy the Texas Rangers for $86 million. Although Bush only invested $606,000, he was named managing partner. Instead of interacting with wealthy businesspeople in the owner's box, Bush was often seated in the stands among ordinary fans. Bush made nearly $15 million (on his $606,00 investment) when the Rangers were sold."

As also stated by others more eloquently than me, Bush's predecessor did nothing about global warming and probably added to it "by issuing an executive order creating the 1.7 million-acre Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument in Utah, rendering the "low sulfur" coal deposit off limits for commercial mining. The move, for all practical purposes, gave Beijing control of the world's only sulfur free coal through its Lippo Group partner."

Now, do you want to continue this pissing contest?
