Glacier to Banff
 

Hey guys! We are headed to Glacier in August and want to head to Banff afterwards. I am looking for transportation ideas. We are renting in Glacier but can't take the car to Canada.

Google says that the following major car rental companies allow rented cars to cross the border into Canada. Kalispell, MT has Alamo and Budget.

• Alamo.
• Avis.
• Budget.
• Dollar.
• Enterprise.

I'm pretty sure that you will have to return the car that you rent in Montana back to the place where you rented it. You can't (or shouldn't) return the car in Canada. Plan to see Waterton Lakes NP as the first stop in Canada.
Quite a few years ago, my wife and I took a train trip across Canada and had a stop in Jasper where we rented a car. We returned the car in Jasper after seeing the parks and then took the train to Vancouver.
From Vancouver we took the Amtrak bus to Seattle and then took the Amtrak Empire Builder overnight to Whitefish MT. We rented a car in Kalispell to go see what we could of Glacier. We were allowed to return the car to the Whitefish Amtrak station when we left Whitefish on the train.
