We are planning a trip from Aug 6-20. We will arrive in Glacier NP on the evening of Aug 6th and depart on Aug 9th. What will make the most of our 2 days here? From Glacier we are heading to Seattle for baseball games on the 10th and 11th. After here we are a little lost. We want to go to the Columbia River Gorge and hike the waterfalls and camp along the Oregon Coast using 101,then hit the Redwoods. Any suggestions on the must see places and best places to camp would be greatly appreciated. Also after the Redwoods we will be making our way back home to Rapid City, SD, so any suggestions to break up that drive a little would help. Thanks

Crater Lake, Oregon Coast, Lassen Volcano, Mt. St. Helens, Mount Hood, Fruit Loop, Silver Falls State Park. Portland has a ton to do in it. I would definately stop at Powells Bookstore and The International Rose Test Garden. We really liked Eagle Creek Trail at Columbia River Gorge.

A lot of the pictures on Cascade Creek is of my daughter and me. Best thing I have ever done and totally blows away rafting on the Grand Canyon.

From the west coast you will have to drive 24 hours to get to Rapid City. I figure you are leaving on Friday the 20th to get back to work, or whatever, on Monday the 23rd.

While you're in Seattle, visit the Pike Place Market and take the ferry to Bainbridge Island for great views of the surrounding mountains and the Seattle Skyline.

On your way to Portland and the Columbia River Gorge, pay a visit to Mt. Rainier--a beautiful place to be.

The town of Hood River is a neat place--and that is where I would stay when visiting the Gorge.

On the Oregon Coast, some of the good places to spend a night are Cannon Beach, Newport, Yachats, Bandon, and Brookings. You will find more ideas here:
