As Myer said or wrote...Rangers-led hike could and should be interesting but...very slow...
For some it can be too...slow!!!
And what you have to be it's very conscient that wildlife can be verywhere everytime.
Not necessary to be affraid while hiking but be attentive...
and not only at the far end of hikes...
Three years ago while coming down back from Okotomi lake, no wildlife till 100 yards of the traihead, just above Rising Sun store...
A very nice...blackbear in the berries patch near the hike...We had to go back for 10 mn and wait till he decides to hike further to another berries patch...
So it could be everywhere but very various in frequency.
Two years before we saw 23 bears in 2 weeks and last year only 4 also in 2 weeks(and I speak only of "trail bears" no "road bears"...
I'm sure you will not be disappointed.
This is a really great park and when you have "taste" it it's very difficult to "quite" it...
It's our 5th times here this next summer and not sure it will be our last time

Erik,
What you mention about Glacier NP in general is very true. I think it's addictive.

I went last summer with my daughter for 3 1/2 days. She's married with a 6 year-old so doesn't want to be away for more than a few days. We didn't get to the west side nor did we get to Two Medicine. So this year I'm going back with a friend for a week (and a day in Banff and another in Jasper as we're coming and going from Calgary).

I expect we'll redo all that I did last summer and then add some.

I wonder if I'll be anxious to return after this summer or then move on.
