My husband and I visited there about 5 years ago. It was beautiful! Coming from the east coast, I had never been to a National Park before.

There are 9 national parks in the east! Can't even count the monuments, etc.

Glacier is my favorite of all the national parks we've been to, and we've been to a lot out west.

Sylvia - I understand what samejia is saying. Yes, there are national parks out east, but I believe they are NOTHING like those out west.

Let me clarify my statement. I've seen plenty of monuments and battlefields but nothing as impressive and majestic as what nature created at Glacier. The views were breathtaking. I guess I'm used to the manmade national parks.

I know what you mean samejia, and I love Glacier too.

GNP is my favorite national park by far...and true...east coast doesn't compare to the west coast...just DIFFERENT. On the east coast, Smoky Mtn. National Park is beautiful and has tons of great hiking. Acadia NP is breathtaking as well.
