Glacier Nat'l. Park In Late April?

My parents are thinking of stopping there on a cross-country drive at that time this year. I know the Alpine section would not be open but would there be enough to see/do at that time for 2 to 3 days? They love seeing pretty scenery, will not hike or do outdoorsy things. Thank you.

You might want to check the condition of Going to the Sun Hwy. In any year, it might be a problem due to road conditions in late April. this year is complicated by road damage. If I recall correctly, they are forecasting it being closed until early summer.

The Going to the Sun Road won't be open. The overlooks are on GTTS Rd. Personally, I don't think they would find much to do in April. Many places are closed for the season. The season doesn't really start until mid-June.

Thanks. Any other opinions?

You'll find that there won't be much open in terms of shops, restuarants, and even some hotels. You could run into a lot of snow. April really isn't a good time to visit the Park.

I agree, the end of April is too early for GNP

Thank you, everyone, for your opinions. I will pass your advice on to my parents.
