Glacier National Park/Banff

We are planning a seven day trip where we are hoping to include Glacier National Park, Banff and Jasper. We will be flying into Calgary.
We would appreciate suggestions on an itinerary, including how much time we need to drive between each location, which to do first, etc.
Also, hotel suggestions would be great.
Thanks

We did Galcier and Banff last year. I believe it is about 1-2 hours to Waterton (Canadian side of glacier park) from Many Glacier Area. It can take over an hour to get from one side of the park to the other. From Waterton, it is probably a 4 hour drive to Banff, and Jasper is probably 1-2 hours further.
We loved Glacier, which we spent a week at by itself. Park varies from each side. Many Glacier is a beautiful area of the park with some great hikes. The old lodges are beautiful to see and visit. They are fun to stay in, BUT they are rather expensive, and walls are paper-thin. The hotel with the best view:Many Glacier.

In 2000 part of our tour was the region you want to go. I would suggest the following plan :
- Calgary drive along the Columbia icefields to Jasper and stay at least 2 days in Jasper .Along the way you can explore Athabasca gletjer-sunwapta-Peyto and Mastaya lakes and in the neighbourhood of Jasper Maligne lake MT.Edith Clavell...
-Jasper to Banff in one day further exploring the above plus Lake Louise- lake Moraine(nicer than the former)....
- stay in Banff for two days
-Banff-Waterton lakes by way of Park Yoho and the Columbia valley
-Waterton lakes- Glacier nat.park- Goiong to the sun road. On Mount loganpass do the hike to Hidden lake overlook.Great.Greetings from Belgium.Paul

That's a lot to do in seven days, especially if you include Glacier NP.

Driving in Canada is slower than in the U.S.A.--there are no superhighways between most destinations. Also, whereas the drive from Banff to Jasper is only about 100 miles, there is so much to see along the way that it takes much longer than you might suppose.

There is plenty to do around Banff and Jasper to keep you busy for a week.

I agree with those who advise you to include Waterton in your itinerary.
