Glacier National Park

-I'm a little confused. Besides the going to the sun road of Glacier National Park, there are other areas of the park that are not connected to each other? You can't access all the areas of the park from the going to the sun road? Which areas of the park would you suggest to a first time visitor, if not hiking more than 1 mile easy hikes?
-Also, the many glacier boat ride says that you have to hike a 1/4 mile but it's a strenuous hike between boat rides- how difficult is it? If you decide you can't do it, can you just go back on the boat back to where you came from?
-Are there any good websites for itineraries that involve mainly driving and only easy short hikes?
-Which audioguides do you recommend?
Thanks

To access Many Glacier you go to the Eastern end of Going to the Sun Road then head North on Route 89 to the access road.

After leaving the first boat the hike to the second lake is a bit steep in spots, but short and well groomed. I don't think you can go back and wait at the dock for the return boat, believe they want to keep everyone together. The Many Glacier Hotel closes soon, I'm guessing the boat concession up front will as well.
