you have a days drive to banff. it depends on what you want to do. if you are a hiker, you are going to love glacier, banff has upscale shops, hiking and depending on time of year there is canoeing on lake louise. if you want time inbetween both places, you should also check out waterton np in canada, this is a really nice place too and has easy accesss without too much work to pretty places and sights. I want to tell you to go to jasper, my favorite of the area but with only a week you probably don't have the time, i used calagary as my airport to do my trip so the drive to jasper was more reasonable. from kalispell if you head north to calagary on your way to banff, go back to kalispell on 93. canmore is a very nice town , i haven't been but radium hot springs sounds interesting. do not speed in canada and remember their speeds are in kph. so if you have a us rental don't make the mistake of using mph for kph, BIG difference. however, you will likely just get a warning. even for 5 kph over (which is only 3 mph over a posted limit!) If you do hike DO NOT MISS the many glacier area of glacier np, i also recommend the red rocks area of waterton for bear sitings. (black bear) you can usually see grizzlies in the valley at the logan pass visitor's center too. In banff, the path along the bow river is really nice. i think you can do you trip but it does mean two full days of driving between the parks. you may just want to stick to waterton and glacier. i have to admit tho, if you are not a hiker, do the drives and go to banff. I stayed just outside of banff at castle mountain and saved a few pennies.
