GIVE ME PEACE!!
Good evening!! I am STRESSED out at my job here in Indianapolis and want to go somewhere within a day's drive that is still somewhat warm during the days and has incredible scenery..and not anywhere around Gatlinburg (done that). Does anyone have any suggestions for something peaceful?? Just get a cabin and relax for a few days?

Asheville, NC... Black Mtn? Lovely lil spot. ;;) Howabout a B&B on a small lake where someone will cook the most wonderful breakfasts for you? Not quite a cabin, but very quiet and relaxing... www.arborhousenc.com
DH and I were there in late July and it was wonderful. |
Stay indoors, preferably your basement, and lock all doors for a few days.
On the other hand, you can look up Mendocino in Northern California. Wine, good food, terrific ocean views and, generally, a serence place. |
Yes!!! But DO NOT go on the weekend- at least into town, that is. Right down the Interstate from you in nashville, Indiana. I have stayed at 3 cabins, the Moon....something, oops, I'll look it up and get back to you, the Yellowwood Lodge, and this one, my favorite , the Covered bridge cabin. Sits in the woods, totally secluded. Hot tub on deck. Incredibly serene. http://www.browncountycabins.com/c_cov.htm
Nashville IN on weekends is a tourist trap with motorcycles, tattoos and fudge shops.....yuk! but just a few miles out of town are gorgeous hills, secluded cabins and PEACE. Take a Tues, Wed , Th vacation day, Hoosier. You deserve it!! |
Oh, God, Mendocino is heaven but a day's drive from Indiana? Mario Andretti couldn't do that, LOL! It's half a day's drive from the nearest airport, LOL! :-)
