GIRS GET-AWAY WEEKEND AT A SPA?
ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS FOR A NICE SPA GET-AWAY WEEKEND FOR WOMEN? WE'VE BEEN TO SO MANY "TYPICAL" TOURIST CITIES, NYC, NEW ORLEANS, SAN FRAN, BOSTON, WASHINGTON, DC,. WE'RE LOOKING FOR SOMETHING DIFFERENT. WE'RE OPEN TO ANYWHERE IN U.S., ANY IDEAS? REASONABLE PRICING? NOT TOO EXPENSIVE. (WE DON'T NECESSARILY WANT IT TO BE A SPA WHERE YOU HAVE TO EXERCISE & EAT PROPERLY EVERYDAY. WE WANT TO BE PAMPERED & DO OTHER THINGS)
THANKS
THANKS

I really enjoyed Red Mountain Spa in St. George, utah. It is an adventure spa...so lots of hiking and mountain biking as well as other fitness activities are offered...but you do not have to partake. There are lots of hammocks around to just go relax, or the pool. I met a bunch of girlfriends there from all over the country and we loved it!
Another spa that I go to regularly for girls weekends with friends is at Sunriver Resort in central Oregon (near Bend). The spa there is fabulous! For accommodations you can rent a home, a condo, or stay in the lodge or river lodge. When I go with girlfriends we stay in the River Lodge and it is perfect for us. This is a resort though...so not an all inclusive type of pricing. I am headed back next month with girlfriends

CJ, when you type in all caps it is the same as screaming.
Sure you did not know this.
Thought you might want to know, for future postings.
Sure understand about wanting a spa to be pampered at without all the "rules".

A friend of mine just told me about Red Mountain Spa. She had the same experience as mms: met a bunch of great friends from all over the U.S. She also said that the treatments were fantastic and the pricing very reasonable. While there are a lot of adventure-type activities, she mostly did the cooking classes and spa treats, besides just lollygagging about.

Another vote for 10,000 Waves in Santa Fe. We just got back from a trip that included a few hours there, and it's an excellent spa. And the town is the perfect mix of upscale and laid-back.
You don't say when you'd be going, but the weather is great this time of year. (Sitting in a private hot tub with your friends on a cool night under the stars is a very nice touch!)

Red Mountain does have a web site, and yes, their brochures give a good description of the place. One friend and I who went are avid hikers and really enjoyed the guided hiking trips they had. For biking and hiking, they have 4 different levels of trips going each day, so you can tailor it to your fitness level. All of us flew into Las Vegas and then rented several cars to drive to the spa. It took us just under 2 hours from the airport to the spa, so its not far. There is a small airport in St. George so if you do not want to deal with a car you can do that. I believe the spa does have a shuttle from the LV airport though (for a fee) if you need. The cooking demonstations and everything else there was wonderful...we honestly did not have anything negative to say about our entire time there, and there were 13 of us!

Hilton Sedona Resort and Spa was lovely. We stayed there this past summer and while we didn't use the spa (busy hiking etc with kids) it looked great and I have been contemplating doing a girl's weekend there. Awesome, energizing setting in Sedona and the Hilton is lovely.
Here are links for the spa and the hotel:

You wouldn't be disappointed!

thanks everyone, so many good suggestions. I've kind of been considering the Santa Fe area myself (even before I though of the spa idea), just because I haven't been to that part of the US. I'll request more brochures online
thanks again
