Girls Trip to Chicago
Hi all!
I am traveling with a group of 8 girls to Chicago next weekend and would love some recommendations on where to eat and fun things to do.
A little bit about the group....we are all in our 20's and are just looking to spend the weekend together to have some fun. We do not want to go to any museums or historical sites while on this trip. We are mostly looking for fun places to check out during the day, a few cool bars to grab drinks at (day or night), and some awesome places to have dinner at that are not crazy expensive, so under $40 entries if possible.
Also for reference, we are staying in the Gold Coast/Old Town area.
Let me know if you have any recommendations!

I would first try to go to a Cubs playoff game if they're still in the playoffs or just do a Wrigley field tour(http://m.mlb.com/cubs/tickets/tours/index). You dont have to be a baseball fan to enjoy that place! However, If you can't I would try to at least hang around Wrigley field for some real fun night life. I would also look into the Chicago riverwalk (https://www.cityofchicago.org/city/e...riverwalk.html). You can also check out this list of things to do.( https://www.hotels4teams.com/travel-...ith-your-team/). Have a good trip!

The area around Wrigley Field is a great idea even if you don't go to a game. We were there this summer the night of a concert and it was absolutely jumping. We could hardly get into a bar for a beer.

HI, hebaseheart.
SATURDAY MORNING WALK?- Gold Coast Home Tours, Farmer's Market, South Pond, Lincoln Park Zoo, North Pond, Lincoln Park Collectivo Coffee
If the weather's nice, on Saturday morning, walk north on Dearborn or State Parkway (pretty houses and Halloween decorations), cross North Avenue and continue north into Lincoln Park. There's an underpass (beneath Lasalle) that leads to the main part of the park. As you walk north and reach the pond, on the left is the Lincoln Park farmer's market where you can get coffee, pastries, crepes. Then go back to the pond, and take the pond walk north past the "Farm in the zoo," past Cafe Brauer, and into the zoo (which is free). Then, go north through the zoo, and exit at the sea otter tank (going West, out to Belden. You'll see a pretty garden in front of a glass conservatory. Walk toward the conservatory, cross Fullerton, into the park around North Pond. Keep going north to the kids playground area at the north edge of teh pond. Go left through the underpass, and you'll be on Deming. Head east on Deming, and there's a Starbucks on the left,or better, a Collectivo coffee across the street. There's also Molly's Cupcakes a few doors north, or a Firecakes Donuts a block south. Then when you're ready to head back, you can jump on either the 22 bus or the 36 bus going south.
Or if you want lunch in the neighborhood, HOPCAT is at 2577 N. Clark, and has great beers and food.

MILLENIUM PARK & VAPIANO on Wabash, or Pret a Manger on Michigan Ave.
Wandering around Millenium Park is nice. You can pop into the Chicago Cultural Center to see the Tiffany ceiling, then over to the "Bean" sculpture and the Gehry amphitheater. If you want lunch, or a picnic lunch, maybe try Pret a Manger on Michigan, to eat there or picnic in the north or south garden of the Art Institute. If you'd rather be inside, Vapiano on Wabash is a great place to order several pizzas or pastas, and you can all hang out there.
RIVER NORTH
You might want to have a coffee at Eataly, or cocktails at the Broken Shaker in the Freehand Hotel.

Quite late here, but thought I'd share some thoughts in case OP makes a second trip. And to brag on some of my favorite spots
Agree with the above post, Lincoln Park is a nice place to walk around and Green City Market is great. Halsted is fun for places to shop.
If you come in the summer, the free concerts in Millennium Park are awesome. You can pick up food nearby, grab a blanket, buy a bottle of wine or two (Pro tip: get a screw top) and enjoy a really lovely evening at low cost.
Nearby, this is a great option for dinner and drinks. Excellent cocktails. Innovate food. Different feel than other restaurants in the nearby area. For a cheaper option, and one that's great for groups, Pizano's is fun and casual.
My recco for rooftop bar. Can get very crowded, however.
This is helpful for navigating around popular spots.
Hope OP had an awesome time!
