Girls Spa Trip
Each year I host a spring party, typically on the last Saturday of April. For next year's get-together, I'm toying with the idea of making it a weekend spa trip for the girls (about 10 in our 30's).
All of us are doing tons of stuff, grad school, working, becoming moms, etc. so the ideal would be an affordable, fairly easy to get to (from DFW, ORD, IAH), with decent spa packages or ala carte services ($100 massages, less for facials, and pedi/mani's, etc.). I've checked the spa sites (ISPA, spafinder) and came up with the following possibilities: Lakeview at Fontana - North Carolina (near Asheville) Aspira (Wisconsin) Crown Point (Mass.) and White Orchid (Florida) Any suggestions, tips, things to think about, etc. TIA! |
There are great resorts/spas in Phoenix/Scottsdale, AZ. I can recommend the JW Marriott at Desert Ridge, the Westin Kierland, the Boulders, Fairmont Princess....you could probably get a reasonable flight on southwest to phx

I keep looking at red mountain spa in St. George Utah (two hour drive from Las Vegas but I think they have a shuttle or similar car service). I've not gone but it looks great.
On the west coast consider La Costa and Ojai for something different. Both have undergone recent renovatons. |
I highly recommend Red Mountain. I have gone on several girl trips there, and we have always been very happy. They do not have their own shuttle service, but they will recommend two. The last trip (last January) we used Dessert Shuttle, which was a fairly new service, and the owner/driver was great. We have also rented cars. We have always flown into Las Vegas, which is about 2 hours away. You can fly into St. George though, which is what we will do from now on. After spending a week at the spa, going to Las Vegas is pretty much a jolt to the system after that, lol!
