GIRLS GETAWAY from BOSTON?

My friend lives in boston (I live in Ohio) I am flying to spend the weekend to visit but thought we'd go somewhere new (w/in 2 hours driving from Boston) what would be a good place I can fly to, my friend can drive to that would be a cute little walkable city/town etc. to hang for the weekend? ideas?

Ogunquit, Maine area. If you choose this, you could fly into Boston and then drive up with your friend. What time of year are you looking at?

Could also look at something in the Berkshires - Lenox, Stockbridge area.

Newport, Rhode Island.

Shopping, food, beaches, cocktails, music, views, boats, mansions, history. You don't even need to get into a car once you're there if you don't want to. It's very walkable, and there's also a trolley service.

Good in all seasons.

Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun works. If winter, ski in Vermont or the Berkshires.

Have you checked Skybus to Portsmouth NH? I don't know anyone who has actually flown on Skybus but read it can be a great bargain. You could also fly into Manchester NH MHT and Portsmouth is less than an hour away. MHT is a straight shot up Rt 93 to Rt 101 from Boston. Of course, it would be much more fun in good weather.
I've done a girlfriend trip to Providence, stayed at the Biltmore but we also drove around Rhode Island to enjoy scenery and shopping. If it's bad weather, the Westin is connected to the indoor mall Providence Place. Hopefully you could get a good rate on Priceline.

Mystic Connecticut is only 110 miles south of Boston (1hr 35 minute drive). It has quaint little shops like Main Street USA but also about dozen restaurants/bars/pubs. There is a Seaport, beaches, etc. There is the Foxwoods Casino 25 minutes in one direction and Mohegan Sun Casino 20 minutes in the other direction. Mohegan Ithink is better, not just for gambling, but for nightlife/clubs/shopping restaurants/concerts/shows/sporting events. There are also 2 Factory Outlet Malls about 40 minutes south of Mystic. One has outlets for stores like Levis/Reebok/Bali/Fila the other outlet is for designer stuff like Versace/Hilfiger/Donna Karen/D&G/ etc.
