Getting to the Keys
 

What is the closest major airport to the Keys? And how long of a drive is it to the KEys?

We usually fly in to either Ft. Lauderdale or Miami, but there are actually small airports on Marathon and Key West. Our drive is about 1 1/2 hours to 1 3/4 hours to Key Largo.

You can fly into Ft. Lauderdale or Miami and then drive into the keys. The airport in Marathon Key is not a public one. You can also fly into Key West and drive north to where you want to go.

Just flew into Ft. Lauderdale and drove to Marathon. It took us about 3 hours in normal traffic.

Don't forget "The Keys" are 110 miles long. So even once you drive the two hours to Key Largo, you have at least another two hours to get all the way to Key West.
