Getting to Rainbow Bridge - Utah
Can anyone give any advice on who runs the best trips to Rainbow Bridge National Monument?
Thanks |
Glen Canyon NRA is Federal & so is RB. Therefore, only the National Park Service Concessionaire can run the boat trips (aramark.com). It is a 7 hour round trip to RB. It is great!

There is only one concessionaire for boat tours to Rainbow Bridge and that is at Lakepowell.com

Take a boat on Lake Powell & depending on the water level you'll be dropped of as close as possible & then will hike in a bit to see Rainbow Bridge. It was an absolutely GORGEOUS boat trip that our hotel organized. Wish I could remember the name of our hotel - sounded Native American.

Jenbren is incorrect -- the ONLY boat rides on LP to RB are thru the NP Concessionaire. JB's hotel acted as the middleman.

There is some hiking involved in getting to Rainbow Bridge. The waterlevels on the lake are low from years of drought. I believe the last thing I read that it is a 1 1/2 mile round trip hike. In the summer it's HOT in this area.

Thanks all. Having looked at accommodation in the Page/Lake Powell area it looks like the best is Wahweap Lodge. Any dissenting views?

It will save you time if you take any NPS boat rides as the dock is out back of the Wahweap hotel. Also close to Glen Canyon Dam if taking that tour.
Otherwise there are some good chain hotels/motels in Page. We stayed at the Best Western. If you like Italian food try Bella Napoli in Page. |
