Getting from JKF or Newark to Manhatten!

Hi

Arriving at either JFK or Newark (yet to be confirmed), staying at Crowne Plaza, Broadway, hotels website advises CARY BUS SERVICE. This is not mentioned on Official Airport Websites and I can't find a website for this company. Has anyone heard of them?

Appreciate advice.

Thank you.

Do you mean MANHATTAN?

Carey, as I recall, lost their airport franchise and no longer service the airports. If two are traveling one way to get to the hotel is by taxi, The fare is fixed at $30 not including tip and toll. Toll, if a toll facility is used, is $3.50. Final cost will be more than $35. There are other shuttle services that will deliver you to the hotel for less than $40 for two but the trip can take longer than the taxi since the shuttle will make stops in Manhattan to drop off other passengers. A taxi from EWR is going to cost in excess of $40, probably closer to $50. Taxis fare is dependent on zones, the least expensive zone is $34. The zone for the hotel is either $34 or a bit higher. There is, however, a $6 toll charge and tip is extra. An option is airport bus to the city and taxi to the hotel. Bus is, I believe,$11 a person. Taxi to the hotel from the bus terminal will be around $5

Carey was the bus line name for so long that people still use it generically (like "Kleenex" or "Jello") to refer to airport bus service. The current line is Olympia Trails. You can buy tickets in the baggage claim area. Cheapest option, and may even be quicker than a cab as buses get to use a special lanes. From Newark, there is train service into Penn Station slated to begin in September.

The fixed fare for yellow cabs from Kennedy to Manhattan recently went up to $35, but it's still a good deal considering the door-to-door service.

Don't forget to add toll (should be $3.00
with cabs using the REQUIRED e-z-pass)
and tip (About $5.00) to the $35.00 fixed fare.
Still worth it for 2 or more people, and for a sinle person who wnats the easiest door to door service

Carey Bus Service was replaced by New York Airport Service. They run buses between JFK and Manhattan and also between LaGuardia and Manhattan and stop at Grand Central and Port Authority. I think they also stop at midtown hotels. Their website is www.nyairportservice.com or you can call them at 212-875-8200.
