getting from Boston to Martha's Vineyard
 

What is the best way to get fron Boston to Martha's Vineyard? I will be in Boston without a car and want to take the ferry from Woods Hole to M.V. What is the easiest and cheapest way to get to Wood's Hole?

I don't know if you can catch a bus from Boston to Falmouth -- but, check with Brush Hill and the Plymouth & Brockton lines. But, as an alternative, you can take the bus from South Station to Hyannis, and take the ferry from Hyannis to Martha's Vineyard.

John - Good luck i'm trying to do the same thing! So far i think the bus from south station is best. I'll be checking and see if anyone has a better idea.

There are also plenty of flights from Boston to MV.

I too think the Bonanza bus is your best bet as it drops you off right at the ferry. I also recommend purchasing your round-trip ferry ticket at the bus station when you buy your bus ticket so you won't have to wait in line at Woods Hole.

Depends where you're staying.... I always rent a bike down in Edgartown along the waterfront. A great ride is along the ocean between Edgartown and OB. Not far, but so lovely! Lock you bike up in OB, grab a burger on the boardwalk and continue on to Vineyard Haven for icecream at Mad Martha's! Work it all off on the bike ride back to Edgardtown!<BR><BR>I'd stay away from the moped option - too many cars and other mopeds in the summertime, though it is a nice way to get out to the Cliffs if you're up for the adventure!<BR><BR>Have fun!<BR>
