getting around Vegas Paris/Ballys to MGM

So what is the easiest way from Ballys to MGM? is there a tram that will take you directly there? Also, Bally's to Mirage? thanks!

Walking.

There is the monorail that will get your from Paris/Bally's to MGM Grand.

$5 a ride or $8 a day unlimited. Multi day too.

Same monorail going other direction will get you to Harrah's and then you have to walk to Mirage.

Seriously, walking will be easiest as you have quite a walk to and from the monorail to the hotel.

Or just take a taxi, especially if it's cold and/or raining.

Those are easy walks skippy, especially if you like to people watch along the way. The monorail is great if you need to get to the convention center, otherwise just get around for free. Next to NYNY(bridge access to MGM) at Monte Carlo there is a free tram to Bellagio. Take the bridge the other way to Excalibur, and there is a free tram as far south as the Mandalay Bay properties

so there is a monorail that goes directly from Ballys/Paris to MGM? thank you

DebitNM Jan 15th, 2013 08:29 AM

Yes, the monorail goes directly, BUT keep in mind that the walk from the monorail station to the casino/hotel part of Ballys/Paris and MGM Grand are a bit of a hike in and of themselves. If walking is an issue, take a taxi for the most direct route with least amount of walking.

where does the monorail drop you off in MGM? I remember a long time ago that they had a nice monorail (before this new one) and it dropped you off downstairs in the MGM, you rode the escalator up and you were in the lobby of MGM

My memory is fading, was that when they had the amusement park? The monorail drops you off now way in the back, its a walk to the front of the hotel. At least it is close to the nice restaurants if you are going for dining

oh no, that is too bad. I think they did have the amusement park back then.

The MGM has gone downhill since, its not the same gem it was then. You are better off spending your time in the luxury hotels center north strip

Agree with FrankS. For the newer casinos - we love Wynn's (alse see the newest addition - Encore) - or the one Steve built before - Bellagio - and the Venetian (Palazzo being their new expansion) is also very nice - but Bally's or Paris - or Planet Hollywood will also work, as would Mirage or Flamingo.

For Flamingo - we try to get a room higher up - on the side/front looking at the great Bellagio fountains - and enjoy a little wine and cheese watching them before heading out to a show/dinner/whatever.

Here is a webpage that shows the monorail and tram.
