Getting around our Nations Capitol

Hi All,
I will be in DC next week for 4 days doing the touristy thing with a friend. We are staying near Dupont Circle at the Radisson Barcello. Should we use the metro to get to the nearest trolley stand to use the trolley to get to the sites. Or use the metro? Or use the bus system?
I tried to get on line to see the bus schedules (May have been at the wrong site) but the one I was at asked for addresses; which I don't know.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
Jo

The Trolley (or Tourmobile) is really a one-time thing, IMHO, to get the lay of the land and get a sweep of the sights. It isn't designed (and not cheap enough) to be regular transportation.

Most of the sights are near a Metro, although some are a bit of a distance. The only big sights not super close to the Metro are the Lincoln Memorial and the War Memorials, and the National Cathederal.

This is the one that we went on:

It was pretty good! It runs continuously, so you can get off at one of the designated stops and take your time and catch the next trolley when you're ready to go on. Taking one of these tours is definitely the best way to see all the sights.
Parking is atrocious in Downtown, so don't even bother driving!!

If you take trolley or tourmobile, why not just take Metro from Dupont Circle to Union Station, both on the red line.

There's no need to get tickets for trolley or Tourmobile for anymore than one day. Once you get a feel for where everything is you can use the Metro for the rest. I would suggest you save any on & off stops for those areas not well served by public transportation: WWII, Jefferson, FDR, Lincoln, Viet, Korea ...(the last 3 very close togeather) Have a great trip.
