getting around in DC

I am staying at the Willard hotel [14 th and Pennsylvania Aves.}and want to get to the new addition of the Air and Space museum, and the new WW II memorial

From 14th and Pennsylvania the Air & Space Museum is a big walk. However you do have the blue line to get you to the Capitol. I believe the closest stop to your location would be Metro Center which connects all the lines together. Regarding the WWII Memorial, if its anything near The Vietnam Memorial no subway gets their easily you just walk and really if you aren't disabled, D.C. is a wonderful walking town. If I were in your situation I would walk to Air and Space but that is about 14 to 16 city blocks from you.

The "new addition" to the Air and Space that you might be thinking of is the Udvar-Hazy Center; it's out by Dulles Airport, but you can get a shuttle there from the original A&S for (IIRC) $7.

You can walk to the WWII memorial. It's on 17th down past Constitution Ave. The new WWII memorial will take a shuttle, as Anonymous described.

That was supposed to be "the new Air and Space museum" obviously. Sorry.

It is a very easy walk to both IMO. You can't take a metro that is going to get you any cloer. The Willard is very nice by the way. Enjoy.

Wow, an ``easy walk'' to Udvar-Hazy? I'd love to see that.
