Gershwin Theater Seating - Wicked
I have the chance to buy tickets in the front mezzanine, also referred to as loge, in row DD at face value ($110). They sound like pretty decent seats but would love input from anyone that is familiar with this theater.

If you look at a seating chart you'll find DD is only on the sides and not in the center. Only you can decide based on your alternatives.

Saw Wicked this past October from the mezzanine. Seats were on the far right side-facing the stage. Thought our seats were fine. Don't recall row number but we were not too far back.
If row DD is somewhat near the front, from our experience there was no problem. Loved the show. |
Within the last few weeks I saw Wicked on a Friday night with a group of 6. We got the tickets at the last minute via lottery (2@$25 each) and at the cancellation window ($110 each). What I can't figure out is why we paid $110 for center orchestra about a dozen rows back for the remaining 4 tickets when you are looking at seats in the mezzanine for that price. Looking at the current prices for February the tickets are much pricier for the same seats.
I didn't like the show by the way. The narrative was a jumble to me. Good idea but contrived in its execution. |
kakalena, it sounds like you had premium tix that were released to regular price at the last minute. ;)

If you won't perish if you aren't guaranteed tickets to see the show then it sounds like a way to go. We just did it on a lark because some of our herd wanted to see it. There were other people in the cancellation line who got tickets that way too and empty seats in our row that evening.
We have never been skunked on tickets to soldout shows and have never paid more than face value. |
