Georgia Road Trip
Hi!
My husband and I will be travelling from Ohio (Cleveland region) to Fort Gordon, Georgia as he heads to some Army training mid July. On the way, we would like to find a nice place to visit and stay for a night. We will be taking 77 pretty much the entire way. We want to avoid going off course too far so it doesn't take too much longer but want to take advantage of the trip and night we get. Any ideas on cool places to visit on 77 South to Fort Gordon?? Thank you!!

Davidson IS a charming little college town and there is a dynamite destination restaurant there--Kindred. Make a reservation. That's a nice suggestion. It might be a longer day's drive than you want to do.
West Virginia is a pretty drive (and easy). Wytheville, VA is about 2 hours north of DAvidson. I haven't stayed there but the old town is interesting
Mount Airy might be your best distance and is interesting.
