Georgetown CO Super 8?

Hi! We want to be equi-distant from Winter Park and Summit County, and it seems Georgetown is the place. I found a Super 8 , can anyone comment on Quality? I know, not 5 stars, but nonetheless it may have some attributes and negatives worth passing on...

Any other Lodging suggestions for this area?
Gracias!

We stayed there last summer (for just 1 night, passing through). I thought it was fine, clean, pretty quiet. It is very close to the historic area and shops. Definetly not 5 stars, but we were on a very tight budget and I had no complaints.

EllieB, gracias! We will certainly look into this place, since all we really need is cleanliness, TV, and nice bed. Best Regards.

GPual, are you coming in Winter? If so you may want to stay in WP then move to Summit. Georgetown really does not have much to offer for more than one night stay. The drive over the pass to WP is not alot of fun if the weather is bad. If your on a budget look at http://www.beavervillage.com rates include meals. In summit look at www.alpenhutte.com. I think you will have a better time not driving back and forth.

Tks Coskier. Yep, winter it is (1/1-15/04). Looked into Beavervillage, looks good! Alpenhutte may be too much "hostel"... How does Super 8 Gtown compare to Super 8 WP? I stayed at the one in WP 8 yrs. ago and it was better than any Super 8 I've seen.

Any suggestions for being near Beaver Creek (not Christie Lodge, which was no good!), nor Comfort Inn, which is booked? Thanks.

GPaul, the super 8 in Georgetown is probably ok never been inside though it is RIGHT on the highway. In Summit also look at http://www.newsummitinn.com they have good rates, also if your coming for a few days consider a condo. www.askicondo.com in Keystone or www.vrbo.com the towns of Dillon and Silverthorne will be lower in price and very central to all Summit resorts. in the Vail area check out http://www.econovail.com we have stayed at Park Meadows, good location, tiny condo but fine for the price.

Have to say again if your coming for a ski vacation I would not stay in Georgetown, I think with a bit of research you could find comparable priced lodging and be in Summit!

Have fun whatever you choose!

one other source for lodging is http://cf.summitnet.com/lodging/vacationmail.cfm put in your budget and any other infor they send to all in data base so you will get a few e-mails but worth it to see what is out there.

I wouldn't base myself in Georgetown in the winter. The road to Winter Park can be a beast if the weather's bad. I like Coskier's idea of one night in Winter Park then moving to Summit County.
