Gasoline in Arizona

What does the gasoline situation look like in Arizona? Will be driving I-10 next week from Texas to California which goes through both Tucson and Phoenix.

Right now, awful, in Maricopa County which where Phoenix is located. Long lines and high prices because of a gas line break and short supplies. Many stations running out of gas. Hopefully they will get the line running this weekend and it will be better next week.

The gas situation in Phoenix is ugly. We are getting more gas and prices are high. Some stations are charging $4.95 a gallon. But, this shouldn't be a problem for you at all. You can get gas in Tucson or even Casa Grande before you get to Phoenix. There is no problem there. Hopefully by next week all will be almost normal in Phoenix.

I too am afraid of this. I am flying into phoenix for labor day weekend. We are renting a car to get around. It's going to be funny if we can't fill it up.They say it will be fixed by then... what if it's not?

I hope it is fixed next week because they're sending California gas to Arizona, so the price in California zoomed up by about twenty cents a gallon overnight. Now in the San Diego area, gas is about $2 a gallon.

It should be ok by Labor Day.

Travelling thru the state, I would fill up in Tuscon and then possibly again in Casa Grande. That should get you thru the Phoenix area to Quartzite and beyond where the situation is ok.

Just a note, I live in Tucson and they tried to pressurize the gas line today(8/20) and it burst again. They need to fix a four mile line. They(?) thought it would be fixed by this weekend, not likely. Anyone who wants updates on it, can go to www.kgun.com, www.kold.com or www.kvoa.com these are the Tucson news staions covering where and when the line will be fixed. By the way, the line broke in Tucson in residential area.
